ATHLETICS

1.     Physical Examination and Insurance for Athletic Teams

The following is part of a written school board policy regarding school athletics:  "The accident risk is somewhat greater in certain athletic activities, and, therefore, will require more careful supervision.  The school will require a parental statement of permission and insurance before a student may participate.  Each student must have an examination by his/her own physician (M.D./D.O.) before participating in athletics.  Suitable forms will be provided by the North Country Union High School District."  A completed physical in seventh grade will cover eighth-grade activities, also.

2.     Academic Eligibility

·         Athletes must maintain a minimum academic standard of no more than one academic grade below 60% for the quarter report card and a minimum grade point average of 70.

·         Athletes who receive more than one academic grade below 60% will be dismissed from the team.

·         Athletes who receive a grade point average of less than 70 will be dismissed from the team.
